New Playground

Second Street JMS has been selected by the TDSB for a playground revitalization project. The board will be building a new playscape in the main schoolyard with construction currently scheduled to begin Spring 2026 (dates may still change). Thanks to your generous donations the project also includes improvements to the playscape and renovations to the outdoor education area and playfield that would not otherwise have been possible.

The changes to the grounds will include:

• A new playscape

• A wooden A-frame log climber

• A wooden fallen log climber 

• 4 new basketball nets and poles

• 2 mini basketball nets

• A regraded sand pit with wooden shade structure 

• Armourstone benches in the garden area

• A new storage shed 

• New bike racks

• An outdoor chalkboard 

• Picnic tables
